 Raw comes to you from Louisiana, fresh after the Saints Super Bowl win last night, and Raw is graced with Carl Edwards as guest host tonight. With backlash from last week's RAW still looming, there's promise for tonight with a Unified Tag Team Championship Match as well as seeing where the breakdowns within both DX and Legacy take us. Let's see how the story unfolds tonight.
MONDAY NIGHT RAW: Monday February 8th, 2010
Raw opens with a video package from last weeks Raw playing, featuring the incident between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon.
We get word that they'll show footage from after last week's Raw went off the air, where Batista apparently attacked John Cena.
Edwards starts off talking about the Daytona 500 and how he has a friend in the WWE, in John Cena. Sheamus comes out.
- Sheamus says that WrestleMania is his Super Bowl, and that he demands that Edwards makes him the last entrant in the Elimination Chamber. Enter Christian. (WHAT?)
-Christian introduces himself to Edwards, and says that he was offended that Edge last week said that he would challenge Sheamus or Undertaker, and didn't mention him or the ECW Championship.
-Christian tells Sheamus he spends a lot of money on hair gel and beard trimmers, but he ran out of money when he got to the tanning salon.
-Christian says that in two weeks ECW superstars will be free agents and that his peeps want him back on Raw. He challenges Sheamus to a match. Edwards says why wait, let's have the match now.
Sheamus vs. Christian
-Christian goes for a diving cross body early, gets caught by Sheamus and hit with a Fallaway Slam. Sheamus then knocks Christian out of the ring.
-Sheamus goes for the Bicycle Kick, Christian avoids it but catches a clothesline.
-Christian hits a tornado DDT off the top ropes for a two count.
-Christian goes for the Killswitch, Sheamus counters and hits the Bicycle Kick.
- Sheamus hits the Crucifix Powerbomb for the pinfall.
Winner: Sheamus
Backstage promo between DX. HBK apologizes and says that in 24 hours he lost, not only the Rumble, but then didn't even qualify for the Elimination Chamber. He says that DX has never been a team at Wrestlemania. Triple H says that going to WrestleMania is good, but Triple H DID qualify for the Elimination Chamber, and that he's going to win and defend the belt at WrestleMania. HBK says that everything is about Triple H now, and leaves.
Video package from after Raw went off air last week. Batista hit Cena with the steps and then Batista Bombed Cena onto the steps.
Backstage promo between Legacy. Cody is whining because he had to face Cena last week and DiBiase only had to face Henry. Orton comes in and says that tonight DiBiase will face Cena. And since Cody got Orton DQ'd at the Royal Rumble, he'll be facing Orton tonight.
Unified Tag Team Championship Match: Triple Threat Tag Team Elimination Match
CM Punk & Luke Gallows vs. Big Show & Miz vs. DX
-Punk & Gallows come out first. Why all the gear for the triplet? Chair, trophy, box, everything, damn.
- CM Punk says that he'll show the world tonight why Straightedge means that he's better than them.
-Jared the Subway guy is in attendance tonight, and Punk compares himself to Jared. He says that Jared should be the spokesperson for the Straightedge Society. Jared declines, Punk begins to approach Jared before DX comes out.
-Big Show vs HBK vs Punk to start. HBK tags in Trips, Punk tags in Gallows, huge Triple H chants.
- Gallows gets beat down, Trips goes after Big Show. Trips hits the facebuster, goes for the pedigree and Show back body drops him over the ropes.
- Miz gets tripped up on the top rope by Serena, chases after Serena and catches a Spinebuster outside from Triple H.
- Trips gets the hot tag to HBK, who hits a reverse atomic drop on Punk followed by an elbow drop. Gallows hits HBK as hes going for Sweet Chin Music, Triple H hits Gallows. Punk goes for the GTS on HBK, HBK reverses and hits Sweet Chin Music to eliminate Punk and Gallows.
- Show & Miz vs. DX now. Big Show taunting HBK in ring (Why is he screaming at him?)
- Big Side Slam from Show on HBK for a two count.
- Show denies HBK the tag, HBK hits the SCM on Show, tags in Triple H.
- Trips hits a high knee now on Miz followed by a facebuster and a spinebuster.
- HBK tags himself in, argues with Triple H in the corner, Miz rolls up HBK for the pinfall.
Winners: (And NEW Unified Tag Team Champions): Miz & Big Show
After the match HBK throws off the DX gear, and after arguing with Triple H more, walks to the back alone.
Backstage promo with Big Show & Miz. Show says that he and Miz did better than Jericho as they beat DX. He says theyre the Miz Show. Lmao, Big Show says he likes ShowMiz better. Wow.
HBK backstage looking for Teddy Long. He asks Teddy Long to trade him to Smackdown. Teddy says that the Smackdown superstars already earned their spots. Triple H stops HBK backstage and asks if hes ready to throw DX and his career away for his obsession. HBK says his career is over, and then issues some Sweet Chin Music to Teddy Long.
Jillian vs. Gail Kim.
Nobody even got entrances. Arena is nearly silent. Maryse is doing commentating.
- Gail Kim gets a quick win following a falling foot jawbreaker. Nobody seemed to care.
Winner: Gail Kim
After the match Maryse goes to the ring and wishes Gail Kim good luck.
Video package for Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase. He's the first inductee for the Hall Of Fame Class of 2010.
Promo backstage between Jared the Subway Guy and Edwards, until Santino interrupts. Edwards promises Santino a match against Jack Swagger on WWE Superstars on Thursday. Kofi comes in, Edwards apologizes for not getting him a match tonight but Kofi says he could use a night off. Kofi says next week all 6 Elimination Chamber participants should be in random singles matches. Edwards says he'll leave it for next weeks guest host to make, Jerry Springer.
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
-Rhodes gets no entrance music, Orton comes out doing his classic Orton stare.
- Orton yells at Cody, Cody slaps back, then hits a dropkick
- Rhodes misses a diving cross body, Orton stalks out the RKO, Sheamus tries to interfere, Orton is distracted, Rhodes hits the CrossRhodes for the pinfall.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
After the match Sheamus hits the Bicycle Kick on Orton. Rhodes then chases away Sheamus with a chair.

Edwards decides to make the matches for next week: Orton vs. Sheamus, DiBiase vs. Kofi Kingston, and Triple H vs. John Cena
Ted DiBiase vs. John Cena
-DiBiase comes out first, followed by Cena.
-Cena immediately begins to beat down DiBiase. Cena then throws DiBiase into the barricade outside the ring and locks in the STFU until the ref breaks it up.
- Cena grabs the mic and enters the ring. Cena says he didnt come to have a match, he's not wasting any more time. He wants to fight Batista.
- Cena says that if he can't fight Batista, he wants to talk to McMahon, the one who set up the attack.
-McMahon comes out with 10 security guards.
- Cena: "The sad thing is you think 10 is enough to stop me, next time come out with a tank."
- McMahon says that he had nothing to do with Batista attacking Cena.
-Cena says that McMahon only cares about the money, and that Bret Hart wants to wrestle another match at WrestleMania against Vince McMahon.
- McMahon says that the answer is yes, that McMahon will face Bret Hart at Wreslemania.
-Another video package from last week's Raw.
Bret Hart storms the ring from ringside and attacks security and Vince. Vince then says that he changes his answer to no because Bret deserves to be screwed. Bret goes nuts destroying the equipment outside the ring and the announcers table.
Final Note: Not a bad Raw at all. Seen the development of a few new feuds, including the destruction of Legacy and DX. Nice to HBK's apparent attempt at a heel turn, and ShowMiz winning the Unified Tag Team Championships is a fresh start, though I hoped Punk and Gallows to win to bring the belts to Smackdown for a bit. Nice job furthering the storyline with Bret and Vince, and nice way to further Sheamus as the champ too by having him not only beat Christian, but attack Orton and cost Orton a loss to Cody. Things look good for next week.
