You look at the calendar and notice it's Thursday. Great, you say, tonight is going to be an awesome night of Total Nonstop Action. And then reality sets in, TNA is no longer on Thursdays. Blast that Monday Night War! Well, fear not, here are some alternatives to take your mind off of the lack of professional wrestling on your Thursday night.
WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year. People around the world come to see the biggest show of them all. At the end of the show, you want people to go away not only talking about the show, but going home happy. You don't want to piss people off and make the crowd angry at the end of the show. Everyone wants a storybook ending and something they can talk about for years to come. its very own (virtual) Hall of Fame. Voting will start March 7, 2010 and will close on March 24, 2010. Best of all, Unlike the WWE Hall of Fame and many others, you will vote in the winners.
After seeing a similar list on SportsIllustrated.com, I started thinking about the most dominate pro wrestlers in wrestling history. And after some searching and prodding, I came up with the Most Dominant Pro Wrestlers By Decade, starting with the 1950s.

The show opens with highlights from last week's main event of Roderick Strong vs. Tyler Black.
Jim Cornette is now shown in the ring. He calls Tyler Black to the ring for an interview regarding this weekend's re-match for the ROH World Title between Black and Austin Aries. Tyler addresses the match last week, and the finish that involved Aries' involvement. He states that he had no idea at the time that Aries had anything to do with the interference Roderick Strong was privy to. Strong makes his way to the ring and addresses Black stating that “you didn't beat me, Austin Aries did.” Strong re-iterates that he didn't lose to Black and demands that Black tells him that he didn't beat him. Black agrees, but as Strong exits the ring Black states “When I'm champion you'll never beat me.” Match #1 – Bobby Dempsey & Alex Payne vs. Kevin Steen & Steve Corino
Dempsey and Payne both looked extremely green in this match and while this match should have only taken about 5 minutes it was closer to 10 minutes. Bobby Dempsey at a point pulled the straps down on his singlet, seemingly firing up, only to tag out. Why in the hell? Anyway, it was a stretched out squash match featuring some hopeful moments by Dempsey & Payne, but Payne was pretty much getting stretched and beaten the entirety of the match.
Following the match Kyle Durden is interviewing the American Wolves hyping their match against the Young Bucks (maybe better known as Generation Me?). The match itself was voted on by the fans, but memory escapes me as to how it was done. I believe it was via twitter. Richards & Edwards, as it turns out, have gotten better at promos. Match #2 – The Dark City Fight Club (Jon Davis & Kory Chavis) vs. The Bravado Brothers
The Dark City Fight Club wins this one in short, short order. I honestly don't know if we'll ever see enough of The Bravado Brothers to determine if they have a future.
Kyle Durden hops in the ring afterwards for a post-match interview. The Dark City Fight Club is apparently gunning for the Briscoes.
A promo is then aired for next week's match between Necro Butcher & Eddie Kingsston vs. Joey Ryan & Erick Stevens. Prince Nana is then featured hyping the Embassy. I'm glad to see that they are at least sort of hyping the Embassy. If only their push translated to the non-TV taping shows.
Austin Aries & Kenny King are now in the ring with Kyle Durden. Aries berates Durden and accuses Cornette of playing favorites...and then mentions that his lip is busted because of Tyler Black. Kenny King, ever the optimist, says it makes him look distinguished. Aries addresses Strong as a guy who will always be second banana and makes mention of Tyler Black choking again this coming weekend at the 8th Anniversary show in NYC. After much taunting, Black makes his way to ringside and the locker room almost literally clears to keep the men separated.
Match #3 – The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) vs. The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards)
I've determined, not just here but in general, that the Young Bucks don't look very good unless they are wrestling in warp speed. Don't get me wrong, they are great at taking bumps and have some really nice and flashy moves but the first half of this match just dragged in part because the Bucks, when on offense, just weren't terribly crisp. The American Wolves, on the other hand, looked fantastic from start to finish. That said, the second half of the match was really, really good. Davey Richards has been on fire for the past few months and I was really afraid at a point that Matt Jackson would be the first man ever beheaded by a kick inside of a wrestling ring. (Has anyone ever been beheaded by a kick anywhere else?) Anyway, if you forced me to give out snowflakes I'd say it was wandering near four star territory towards the end, but it will have to settle around 3.5 stars for me. At the beginning of the match, the Briscoes said they would give a shot to whoever won the match. Thus, after this really solid match it appears as though Generation Me....errrrr , I mean the Young Bucks, will be facing the Briscoes on HDNet here in the near future. I wonder who'll win. Allow me to put on my pondering face...
Well, that about does it for this week. If anyone has any comments, good or bad, please give them. I always love hearing feedback. I've been trying to toss a little more personality into these, so let me know if its welcome or not.
