Welcome to the HTR live coverage of the WWE Royal Rumble. Big night as this is one of the company's "Big Four" shows. John Cena takes on Kane. Will Cena embrace the hate? CM Punk faces Dolph Ziggler with the WWE Championship on the line and John Laurinaitis is the special guest referee. Daniel Bryan must find a way to retain the title in a triple threat match against Big Show and Mark Henry. And of course, there's the rumble itself.

Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry - World Heavyweight Championship in a Steel Cage
- You can only win by pinfall, submission, or escape.
- Bryan is first out and he's pumped up.
- Lilian Garcia with the introductions.
- Bryan immediately tries to climb the cage but Henry drags him down. Show shoulder blocks Bryan.
- Show makes a Henry sandwich using the cage.
- He does this a couple times and Bryan tries to sneak out but Show catches him.
- Knockout Punch attempt from Show but he punches the cage instead.
- Bryan is now able to get Show off his feet and goes to work kicking the opponents.
- Henry stops Bryan from walking out of the cage.
- Bryan is becoming familiar with the cage courtesy of Henry.
- Show's turn to toss Bryan into the cage.
- Big Show is just tossing Bryan around.
- Clothesline from Henry to Show.
- Bryan is able to slide in and try to get a pin on Henry before he's once again thrown around by Show.
- Bryan snaps off a DDT on Show and gets a two count.
- LeBelle Lock on Show. Henry breaks it up.
- Bryan would make it to the top of the cage when Show and Henry are engaged. Show gets hold of him. Bryan is hanging over the side and eventually falls to the ground. Bryan does the over-the-top celebration.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
Video package for John Cena with fans stating why the like or dislike him. I think this was a nicely done video segment. Perhaps seeds are being planted.
Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and the Bella Twins vs. Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Tamina and Eve
- Tamina and Natalya start it off.
- Tamina drops Natalya and Eve comes in for her booty pop moonsault.
- Eve is able to take Beth to the mat.
- When Eve turns her attention to her other opponents she is hit in the spine by Phoenix.
- One Bella feels the wrath of a few Alicia Fox single-leg dropkicks.
- That is short-lived and the Bella has Fox down on the mat.
- Kelly Kelly gets the tag. Vintage head scissor takedown from her.
- Action breaks down and the ladies are all fighting outside.
- Kelly goes to the top rope and jumps off, taking out six Divas.
- Kelly goes back in the ring to finish off the Bella but Beth tags herself in and Glam Slams KK.
Winner: Beth Phoenix, Natalya, The Bellas via pinfall
We go back to Kane putting Zack Ryder out of commission.
Zack Ryder is wheeled through the back saying he had to be there to see Cena. Laurinaitis tells Ryder that he has a room set up for him to view the action. Eve has some words for Johnny and hopes he's fired tomorrow night.
John Cena vs. Kane
- Bell rings and Cena starts throwing blows until Kane elbows him.
- The "Let's Go Cena! Cena Sucks" chants start.
- Kane still in control as we go outside the ring.
- Cena goes after the knee of Kane and then rolls into the ring.
- Early AA attempt but Cena isn't strong enough.
- Kane with a rest hold on Cena.
- Cena tries to fight back but runs into a right hand.
- Back to the rest hold.
- Kane charges at Cena and is drop toe hold into the turnbuckle.
- Cena tries a bulldog but Kane pushes him off.
- Cena tries to mount another comeback but runs into a clothesline.
- Cena is fighting to stop Kane from putting that suffocation move.
- Cena counters into a submission hold but Kane rolls out.
- Side slam from Kane.
- Vintage clothesline from the top rope from Kane.
- Second wind checks in for Cena. Prepare for 5 Moves of Doom.
- Kane grabs hold of Cena's throat when Cena mocks with the You Can't See Me.
- Kane puts Cena up on the top turnbuckle.
- Cena fights out and then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle from the top rope.
- Another AA attempt but Kane elbows Cena.
- Cena takes out Kane's knee. That only stops the monster momentarily. Kane drives Cena's back into the apron on the outside.
- The two men fight and are counted out. They continue to fight up the ramp and into the back.
- Kane cracks a chair across Cena's back a few times.
- Kane sees Ryder's locker room and kicks the door in to go after Ryder.
- Kane puts that new move on Ryder and wheels him out to the ring.
- Eve runs to the ring to stop Kane as he's kicking Ryder around.
- Tombstone Piledriver to Ryder.
- Cena runs down to go after Kane but another AA attempt isn't successful. Kane chokeslams Cena.
Winner: Double Countouot
Eve and Cena look on as medics strap Ryder to a stretcher.
It's time to see a video package for The Rock.
Drew McIntyre vs. Brodus Clay
- McIntyre isn't happy with Clay's dancing act.
- The Clay squash train continues as McIntyre loses.
Winner: Brodus Clay via pinfall
The issues between CM Punk and John Laurinaitis air in a video package to get us ready for the next title match.
Dolph Ziggler w/ Vicki Guerrero vs. CM Punk (c) - WWE Championship
- Laurinaitis announces that he'll be officiating from outside the ring and another referee will be inside the ring.
- Laurinaitis sends Guerrero to the back before the match starts.
- Ziggler goes for a quick attempt at the Fame Asser but Punk moves.
- Moments later Ziggler shows off as he's been doing lately.
- Punk drives some elbows into the side of Ziggler.
- Punk drops Zigs across the top rope and Ziggler falls to the outside.
- Punk dives outside the ring to take out Ziggler.
- Back in the ring, Ziggler takes the legs out from Punk who was on the top rope.
- Repeated elbow drops from Ziggler.
- Ziggler locks in a submission before Punk powers out and hits a suplex.
- Ziggler locks in a sleeper but Punk tries to go for the Anaconda Vice only for Ziggler to evade.
- Dropkick from Ziggler and he gets a two count.
- Punk catches a jumping Ziggler and hits a spinning powerbomb. Two count.
- Punk builds the momentum. Running knee and bulldog follows.
- GTS attempt but Ziggler counters.
- Slingshot attempt but Punk hits a crossbody and Ziggler rolls through.
- Ziggler is kicked in the head but kicks out at two again.
- Scoop slam from Punk and as he goes to the top rope he stares at Laurinaitis.
- Elbow drop from the top rope.
- Ref gets knocked out when Ziggler pushes Punk.
- Punk locks in the Anaconda Vice but Laurinaitis is checking on the ref.
- Punk shouts at Johnny but Ziggler tries to roll up Punk only for Punk to counter. Still, Johnny is with the ref.
- Laurinaitis pushes the ref into the ring. Ziggler tries to attack Punk again but Punk puts him up on the shoulders. Laurinaitis is kicked in the head by Ziggler's foot as Punk hits the GTS.
- Punk tells Laurinaitis the next GTS is for him.
- Ziggler takes advantage and takes Punk down for a near fall.
- Ziggler charges at Punk but Punk turns it into a slingshot.
- GTS connects.
- Punk covers Ziggler and Laurinaitis slides into the ring to count with the ref.
Winner: CM Punk via pinfall
Laurinaitis hands the title to Punk and is shown clapping for Punk atop the stage.
Video package to hype the Rumble match.
Royal Rumble Match
- The Miz is first out as expected. Miz says that he's had many say he couldn't do something but he's proved them wrong. He may be the first man out but he'll be the last man standing.
- Alex Riley is #2.
- The men come face to face and look to the Wrestlemania sign before throwing blows.
- Riley tries to toss Miz early but Miz escapes. Miz trash talks and nearly gets eliminated when Riley counters and sends Miz to the apron. Miz low bridges and Riley is gone.
- R-Truth is #3.
- Truth ducks and kicks Miz in the face.
- Miz ends up on the apron again but he gets back in the ring.
- Truth struggles to get Miz up and lands a suplex.
- Cody Rhodes is next up. #4
- Beautiful Disaster to Truth from Rhodes.
- Rhodes and Miz teaming up on Truth.
- Cody hangs on the apron as Miz hits the Reality Check on Truth.
- Justin Gabriel is #5.
- Gabriel goes after Rhodes immediately.
- Rhodes tries to eliminate Gabriel but Gabriel hangs on.
- #6 is Primo.
- Primo leg sweeps Rhodes and drops a leg drop.
- Lie Detector from Truth to Rhodes and Miz eliminates Truth immediately.
- Miz ends up outside but he was taken out from under the bottom rope by Truth.
- Mick Foley is #7.
- Foley eliminates Primo.
- Foley pounds Rhodes with several punches.
- Double-arm DDT from Foley to Rhodes.
- Alberto Del Rio is back. #8. No, it's Ricardo Rodriguez and the crowd chants for him.
- Double R wails away on Rhodes.
- Ricardo and Foley team up to eliminate Gabriel. Ricardo does a victory slide in the ring.
- Santino is #9.
- Backdrop from Santino to Ricardo.
- Santino gives Ricardo a wedgie and eliminates Ricardo.
- It's Cobra v. Socko in a standoff.
- Epico is #10. He eats the Cobra and then Socko. Bye Epico.
- Cobra and Socko lock up before Rhodes and Miz attack.
- Santino is gone.
- Foley has Socko on Miz before Rhodes eliminates him.
- Kofi Kingston is #11 and he's a ball of energy.
- Double Boom Drop by Kofi.
- Miz hangs on from being eliminated again. Dropkick from Rhodes to Kofi.
- Jerry lawler is #12 and he leaves the table to get into the ring.
- Lawler immediately with the upperhand and drops the fist from the top rope on Miz.
- Rhodes eliminates Lawler.
- Ezekiel Jackson is #13.
- Clothesline to Kofi and Rhodes by Ezekiel. Scoop slam to Miz.
- Spinning sideslam to Kofi by Zeke.
- Jinder Mahal is #14.
- Mahal takes his time to get into the ring.
- He hits Zeke with a neckbreaker and then goes after Kofi.
- The Great Khali is back at #15.
- Khali tosses Mahal.
- There goes Zeke by Khali.
- Hunico is #16.
- Springboard crossbody from Hunico on Kofi.
- Khali steps on the throat of Hunico.
- Kofi works on Miz before Khali clubs him in the back.
- Booker T is #17.
- Booker uppercuts everyone before Khali puts a stop to his momentum.
- Kofi skins the cat and then does a handstand to avoid having his feet touch the mat. Impressive work.
- Dolph Ziggler is #18.
- Ring is getting filled. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is #19 and the crowd erupts.
- Hooooooooooo!!!! USA! USA! USA!
- Rhodes eventually eliminates Duggan.
- Booker and Khali are eliminated by Dolph and Miz.
- Michael Cole gets spot #20.
- The orange singlet returns.
- Cole parades around avoiding contact.
- Kharma is back and she knocks Cole down immediately.
- Cole is on the apron and Booker and Lawler drag him off.
- Kharma drops Ziggler and eliminates Hunico.
- Ziggler is able to recover and eliminate Kharma.
- Sheamus is #22. He's knocking everyone to the mat.
- Kofi is tossed by Sheamus.
- Sheamus clubs away at the chest of his opponents.
- Road Dogg Jesse James is #23.
- Road Dogg shake, rattles, and punches Rhodes.
- Jey Uso is #24.
- The Uso kicks Miz in the mug and runs his backside into Road Dogg's face.
- Jack Swagger is #25.
- Suplex from Rhodes to Ziggler.
- Wade Barrett is next out.
- There goes Road Dogg thanks to Barrett.
- Ziggler hits Jey Uso with the FameAsser.
- David Otunga is #27.
- The hometown boy is #28. Randy Orton goes right after Barrett.
- Rhodes attacks Orton from behind.
- Orton double DDTs Rhodes and Ziggler.
- There goes Jey Uso and Barrett gets RKO'd.
- Bye bye Barrett.
- Chris Jericho is #29.
- Jericho eliminates Otunga.
- And the final entrant is Big Show.
- Swagger is eliminated by Sheamus as Show gets to the ring. Swagger shoves Show and Show knocks him out.
- There goes Miz and Rhodes at the same time by Show.
- Ziggler is next to go.
- Final four is Show, Jericho, Orton, and Sheamus.
- Chokeslam to Jericho from Show.
- Orton RKOs Show.
- Orton then eliminates Show. Jericho eliminates Orton.
- It's down to Sheamus and Jericho.
- Sheamus has Jericho over the top but Jericho is holding on.
- Jericho avoids elimination.
- Jericho gives a few kicks before eating a backbreaker.
- Celtic Cross but Jericho slips out. Jericho sends Sheamus to the apron and then dropkicks but Sheamus still hangs on.
- Sheamus slingshots his body into the ring and takes out Jericho.
- Jericho fights out of being eliminated.
- Brogue Kick misses and Jericho locks in Walls of Jericho.
- Sheamus sends Jericho up and over but Jericho holds on.
- We go to the top rope.
- They fight on the top until they both hit the apron
- Code Breaker to Sheamus.
- Jericho clubs away.
- Three slaps by Jericho and Sheamus gets angry. Brogue Kick missed but SHeamus grabs Jericho during a Code Breaker attempt and puts Jericho over the ropes. Jericho holds on but Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick to eliminate Jericho.
Winner: Sheamus
