WWE: Please Push John Morrison… OFF A CLIFF!
September 25, 2009
WWE Fatheads - Smackdown on your wall
Perhaps I am wrong here, but how long has this man

I attend many live events (perhaps more than any reasonably sound woman should) and I can tell you that WWE newcomer, Jack Swagger gets more crowd reaction than JoMo has been able to garner over the course of his career!

Wrestling purists, speak all you will about JoMo’s “technical ability” but this is sports entertainment and Morrison simply does not get the live POP!

He is talented, we know.  He is a good performer, we get it.  But, it’s just wrong and unfair!  We hear you. Now, go cry on the shoulder of the Shelton Benjamin fans, they feel your pain.  The powder room is on the left, boys, do be sure to grab a tampon and a maxi-pad on your way out!  Stop all the whining and get over this love affair, he’s not “the one.”

Can someone please explain this raging man-crush the online wrestling community has upon John Morrison?   Maybe I’m just jealous; perhaps I want to be the prettiest thing to enter the arena when I attend a live event.

Or, perhaps it is his long, flowing hair and fabulous sparkly bell-bottoms of which I am envious; I can’t really say for sure.  But, as much as I envy his Greenwich Village,

Chippendale’s ring attire, I simply cannot get excited about this man.  Sure, it might be entertaining to book JoMo together with Harley Race, Sgt. Slaughter, Tatanka and Robo Cop for a Village People reunion tour, but I’m just not feeling this deep sense of urgency for a title push. Week after week, I am reading articles begging, pleading and even demanding for Morrison to be given the “push.”

Johm Morrison on Smackdown

Being given the opportunity to wrestle for the largest major wrestling promotion is a privilege in itself.   So, stop playing the blame game and accept the fact that chances are not given, they are taken!

We watch performers like Christian (bless his heart) get out there each week on the “C” Show, clapping it up and raising his hands, trying tirelessly to motion the crowd to their feet; it doesn’t always work, but at least the man tries!

There is a marked difference between hunger and starvation. Starving wrestlers stand in line at the mid card drive-thru, waiting for their number to be called; hungry wrestlers will eat their young to survive and thrive in the business!

This is a well established industry. The industry has nothing to prove to the wrestler; The wrestler has all to prove to the industry!

If you are given the opportunity to perform on prime time television, you had better find a way to get yourself over with the fans because (air) time is money and you can be certain the big boys at Corporate HQ are watching to see who has “it” and who does not.

Surely, Morrison has given some noteworthy performances on his pre-recorded segments of the Dirt Sheet; now if only he could only employ those mic skills in front of a live audience!

An opportunity presents itself at each performance in which he is scheduled to compete. John Morrison might want to heed his own words:

“In life, there are winners and there are losers!”

So, stop waiting for the push and start getting pushy!

The next time WWE comes to your town, rally up a bunch of your rowdiest beer drinking, banner waving, t-shirt wearing, JoMo loving buddies, buy a slew of tickets on the TV side of that 100 section, get out there, and mark for your man!

It is not up to WWE to let it happen, it is up to Morrison to MAKE IT HAPPEN!
